The process

Signing a document takes three steps

  1. Upload the document

Upload your contract as a PDF and place the signature, name and date fields where each party must sign.

  2. Invite your signers

Each signer receives an email with a secure link. They review and sign from any device, with no account required.

  3. Everyone gets the sealed copy

When the last signature lands, the document is sealed with a digital certificate and every party receives the final PDF with its audit trail.

Encrypted in transit

All traffic to and from the platform runs over HTTPS.

Storage

Documents are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and platform data lives in a Postgres database on Mongwalo's own server.

POPIA

Mongwalo is operated under the Protection of Personal Information Act. Personal information is collected only to run the signing process. Questions: [email protected].

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not answered here, email [email protected] and the team will come back to you.

Is an electronic signature legally valid in South Africa?
Yes. South Africa's Electronic Communications and Transactions Act recognises standard electronic signatures for ordinary business agreements. A small set of documents, such as wills and transfers of immovable property, still require other formalities, so confirm with your attorney for those cases.
What kind of electronic signature does Mongwalo produce?
Mongwalo produces standard electronic signatures under the ECT Act. It does not produce advanced electronic signatures, which require an accredited authentication provider.
What documents can I sign with Mongwalo?
Mongwalo suits everyday business contracts such as NDAs, supplier agreements, employment letters and lease agreements. Upload a PDF, place the signature fields and send it for signing.
Do the people signing my document need an account?
No. Recipients receive an email with a secure signing link and can review and sign the document directly from that link.
How do I know a signed document has not been changed?
Every completed document is sealed with a digital signing certificate and carries an audit trail of who signed, when and how. Any change to the sealed PDF after signing invalidates the seal.
Where are my documents stored?
Documents are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and platform data lives in a Postgres database on Mongwalo's own server. All traffic to and from the platform is encrypted over HTTPS.
Is Mongwalo POPIA compliant?
Mongwalo is operated under the Protection of Personal Information Act. Personal information is collected only to run the signing process, and questions about data handling can be sent to [email protected].
How much does Mongwalo cost?
Pricing is provided on request and depends on whether you need access to the shared platform or your own branded portal. Email [email protected] for a quote.
Can I get a signing portal in my own company branding?
